Your local generalist Community Legal Centre can provide you with information on state and federal privacy laws, Freedom of Information, and the protection of private and personal information. See the Find a Local CLC section of our website.
The Tenants Union of Victoria is a specialist CLC that provides information and advice to residential tenants in relation to privacy, the landlord’s rights of entry and open-house inspections when the rental property is on the market. Services not dependent on where you live.

Australian Privacy Foundation The Australian Privacy Foundation is the primary association dedicated to protecting the privacy rights of Australians. The website has a wealth of information, including papers, resources and the Big Brother Awards.
Government organisations
Office of the Privacy Commissioner The Office of the Privacy Commissioner protects the privacy of information held by the Federal government, private sector organisations, health service providers, some small businesses, and credit reporting agencies. It also operates a Hotline.
Privacy Victoria Privacy Victoria maintains the personal information held by the Victorian government and provides information sheets and information on how people can make a privacy complaint.
