Darebin Community Legal Centre - Aims and Objectives

Encouraging participation in the running of the Centre by people who are not lawyers and people who live in the Darebin area
Increasing the understanding that local residents and workers have of the laws and legal processes by providing legal education to the community
Encouraging the social, economic and political positions of local residents
Participating in the process of changing laws that are unjust or difficult to understand
Conducting training courses for volunteer and employed staff to enable them to assist in carrying out the objectives of the Centre
Representing the views of the service on behalf of the client group to the State and Federal Governments, Parliament, semi-government and local government bodies
Co-operating with other legal aid services
Collecting data relevant to research into law related social issues
