Dignity Financial Counselling Service (DFCS) is also located at 22 Bellair Street, Kensington.
Dignity Financial Counselling Service is funded under a separate program by the Department of Justice (Consumer Affairs).
DFCS operates on the same community model as the Flemington & Kensington Community Legal Centre. It is managed by a Committee of Management and supported by four permanent part-time staff and volunteers.
DFCS provides financial counselling, information, referral and ongoing casework assistance in general debt and credit matters. DFCS is also involved in community legal education and legal reform work.
Financial Counsellors
DFCS Financial Counsellors work on behalf of consumers to assist them to resolve their financial problems. They also work together with the community to get a better deal from government and industry for consumers.
Information is confidential and free.Dignity is also able to provide an interpreter if required.
