Flemington & Kensington Community Legal Centre

Want to volunteer

A mix of legal and non-legal volunteers delivers our night and legal advice and referral services. Law students who volunteer during the day perform a range of tasks. They deal with existing casework, reception and adminstration, research, or participating in locallegal education sessions.

At times, we take on community development students who will undertake community development research or conduct community workshops. Centre staff support our volunteer program.

We prefer to discuss volunteering face-to-face. This way we will be able to take you through the service, discuss our aims of objectives and find out what you want to get out of volunteering with us.

We value our volunteers and we have set service standards and staff to support you. FKCLC staff also learns from our volunteers as they have many life and working experiences that enhances our service delivery. Our long term Law and Community Development volunteers report that volunteering at the service has strengthened their academic and employment prospects.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Centre we recommend that you:

  • drop into our centre and collect an application form, or
  • telephone our office to see if there are any vacancies available.
  • email the Volunteer Co-Ordinator at volunteer@fkclc.org.au
