Criminal Law

If you have been charged with a criminal offence, it is important for you to retain a private solicitor if you can afford one. However, if you are unable to do so, Monash-Oakleigh Legal Service may be able to help you.

We can advise you in relation to your decision about whether to plead guilty or not guilty. We can brief a barrister to represent you if you can afford it, or we can help you to apply for Legal Aid for representation.

If you are denied Legal Aid, we can assist you to prepare to present your own case in Court, including helping you to organise the relevant documentation and construct your arguments, and we can help you to understand the Court process.

We can also provide advice about the potential outcomes of your case.

You may also find some relevant materials on our Forms& Downloads and Useful Links pages.
