Day Service Volunteers
Day service volunteers, who are primarily students in law, community development, justice studies and/or have an administration background, undertake administrative tasks and research in order to assist all the program workers and generally assist in keeping the office running smoothly.
Most of the work undertaken by the day service volunteers involves supporting the conduct of the legal casework. For instance, the day service volunteers type most of the casework correspondence.
The day service volunteers also undertake a range of other administrative tasks, thereby ensuring the staff does not actually drown in paperwork!Sometimes people undertake special projects, such as laying out major documents like the annual report and this website, undertaking research for media enquiries, and updating our referral resources.
The service also has volunteers who are both proficient in data entry and have a background in the legal system to input client data onto the CLC statistics system, CLSIS.
All the day service volunteers, regardless of their role, brighten the days of our staff - and not just because of the invaluable work they do!
