Information for community education projects volunteers

The Western Suburbs Legal Service is regularly involved in providing legal information talks and seminars to various community groups, schools and organisations.We also produce booklets, pamphlets etc.

Talks are held at various times during the year, and unpaid workers are encouraged to participate, plan and conduct such community education projects on behalf of, and in conjunction with paid staff.

The skills involved include:

• communication and public speaking skills
• research techniques
• developing organisational skills
• networking with other service providers
• understanding of legal and social issues
• effective writing skills
