The Western Suburbs Legal Service recognises the important role played by unpaid workers and the contributions they make to the output of the agency.
Unpaid workers will enhance the work of the legal service by:
- Contributing towards the legal service in achieving its aims and objectives
- Assisting the legal service to meet current demand and expand its casework service
- Increasing community awareness of the services offered by the legal service by encouraging community members to actively participate in the operation of the legal service by becoming members
- Increasing community awareness in relation to legal issues through advocacy, information and referrals
- Encouraging the service to evaluate its level of service on a regular basis, thereby enabling the organisation to evolve
- Enabling community members to have access to their legal rights as enshrined in law as well as other relevant resource materials
What we want unpaid workers to do:
Unpaid workers may be involved in various aspects of the legal service operations:
- Administration
- Advice and Advocacy
- Community Education Projects
- Reception
- Research and Campaigns
