Managing the Organisation
Planning & Evaluation
Planning
Organisational planning can take many forms, including strategic planning, business planning, market plans and development of work plans.
The following link will direct you to the login page of the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department, Commonwealth Community Legal Services Program (CLSP) website which contains useful CLSP related materials, www.ag.gov.au/cclsp. You will need to enter a username and password to gain access to the site. If you have forgotten this information, please contact the Federation's Administrator on 9652 1501.
Evaluation
Regular organisational evaluation should form part of a CLC's strategic planning process. The resources below should help you with assessing your overall organisation.
Legal Needs Studies
- Eastern CLC (2004, PDF, 216KB)
The Increasing access to legal services for the Outer East proposal was a short submission that developed out of a broader strategy to advocate for an expansion of community legal services to this catchment. The strategy had five components (see section 5) and this proposal was developed early on as a short local needs and advocacy tool. It was intended to develop a more detailed needs analysis and submission later in the campaign but ultimately this was never required. Nevertheless, the Centre’s position was that this was only the beginning and much more data and argument could follow in future if and as required. The data itself was gained from the publicly available information, our Centre data and agency/local government members of the Outer East CLC Reference Group, a partnership formed to undertake and guide the campaign.
- Brimbank Melton CLC (2005, PDF, 50KB)
This is a short submission advocating for funding for the expansion of community legal services to Melton Shire. The submission draws on population, client and funding data to demonstrate the need for additional funding.
- Loddon Campaspe CLC (2004, PDF, 800KB)
This report analyses legal needs in the Loddon Campaspe region and advocates for the establishment of a community legal centre to service the region.
