Family Law & Compulsory Dispute Resolution
Mediation Information Services (MIS) was created by the Family Law Assistance Program of Monash Oakleigh Legal Service to support separating or divorcing couples.
Mediation Information Services ran a series of pilot seminars at the Family Law Registry and Traralgon in early 2008. The success of the pilot seminars have led to a regular series of free information seminars to be held at the Family Law Registry in Dandenong.
The seminars will help you understand the law relating to:
- marriage breakdown, separation and divorce
- how to make an application for consent orders if agreement is reached
- understand compulsory dispute resolution in regard to children and how to obtain children's orders
- making arrangements for your children after separation
- other services to help you through this difficult time
- child support
Who is it for?
All are welcome to attend the seminar. The information provided is particularly applicable to separating or divorcing couples with children under the age of 18. We will also speak briefly about property matters and grandparents issues.
